Once again, the wonderful environment of the Camberg seminar centre will provide the setting for this year’s Treasures of Heaven Summer Camp. The annual family event for Blessed Children (aged 16 and over) who have some mental and/or physical disability and their parents. We are looking for volunteers, too.
This programme is tailored to suit the needs of blessed children with physical and/or mental disabilities – personal circumstances that would prevent them from joining in regular youth workshop activities. This is now a mainstream event forming an important part of our Europe-wide summer activities for young people. It is a joint project of European BFED and ESGD as a part of the ESGD Summer activities.
Dates: 8-13 July 2017 for participants
7-13 July 2017 for staff and volunteers
Location: Seminarhaus Neumuehle, Bad Camberg 65516 (near Frankfurt), Germany
WS Fee: 160 Euros for ToH participants
70 Euros for volunteers
Register online here latest by 10th June
At least one parent is required to accompany their child. During the programme, where appropriate, parents and children will be offered separate sessions – but in close proximity to each other. This way kids get a well-earned break from their parents and parents get a well-earned break also! There again, it is a family event – so there will be activities together as well – singing and mealtimes, an outing and entertainment, a campfire and more.
We welcome your ideas and input at the planning stage to help us shape the programme to the participants’ needs and wishes. No one knows your child better than you: his or her hobbies, skills and limitations, physical and mental situation, dietary needs, etc. Upon registration you will be asked questions relating to your child’s specific needs and interests – the information you provide will greatly help the staff to make the Summer Camp an enjoyable and helpful experience for your child and for you.
Volunteers
If you would like to volunteer – either as an adult with experience or interest in this area, or as a young person who would like to serve your brothers and sisters by being a ‘buddy’ for the week (and learning a lot in the process), please register here
Financial Support
We are asking kindly for help families in communities throughout Europe. With the financial support received, we will be able to offer some subsidy to participating families and the essential volunteer staff.
